Qualitative Introduction To Water Pollution
A chemical examination of natural and treated waters. Lab Kit for 50 students. Color changes and simple tests enable students to detect pollutants and appreciate their significance. Though the approach is straightforward and uncomplicated, results are reliable and dramatic. Students perform qualitative tests on natural or treated water, and compare the degree of pollution by noting the depth of color. Ten common pollutants are identified in locally collected water, and pH is also determined. Tests include: Ammonia, Chlorine, Chromium, Copper, Cyanide, Iron, Nitrate, Phosphate, Silica, Sulfide, and pH. Sufficient material for 50 tests of each pollutant tested. Individual refills are available for each pollutant.
